One Place Deeply, a new book by Point Reyes photographer, Marty Knapp is an intimate photo journey of a favorite natural area near the artist’s home. The reader is taken along the Green Bridge Trail seen through Knapp’s lens over an eight-year period during the seasonal changes of weather and light in this wetlands meadow near Lagunitas Creek. Over time the views shift from wider trailside views to close-up surprises of nature’s intricate design seen only inches from the eye.
Reviews from readers:
I love this book. It captures the spirit of Pt. Reyes for me. I visit whenever I can but now I can visit by opening your book. Thank you.- Cathy Coverly
Every single image in the book is a joy to behold and study. You have reaffirmed the value of repeatedly visiting places and capturing the changes large and small with the seasons, the weather and the light. This book is an inspiration to all, and an inspirational lesson for landscape photographers.- Frank Field, The Sea Ranch, CA
Really beautiful Marty. Gorgeous. – Judy Rodoni, Olema, CA
This is a wonderful book. Honored to have walked this trail with you in October. It was like a master class in “noticing”. – John Kupersmith, Reno, NV
I’ve been working my way through One Place Deeply and enjoying it immensely. I think that 14 and 15 are my current favorites, something about paths forward and going places…. – George Hartzell, Oakland, CA
