Who this workshop is for:
This workshop is for photographers who are familiar with their cameras and want to make better images, especially in
black and white. It’s all about seeing, finding and using the best light for more expressive photography. Color photographers will also benefit from the fundamental principles demonstrated during this workshop. Please note: Basic camera technique (beginning photography) will not be taught at this workshop.

Possible Field Photography Locations
Depending on weather conditions and tides the afternoon and morning field sessions will be selected from the following
Point Reyes area locations: Abbotts Lagoon, Kehoe Beach, McClures Beach, Drakes Bay, Limantour Estero, Lake Nicasio,
Mount Vision and Mount Tamalpais. Actual locations will be decided taking into account weather, tides and astronomical events.

Lodging
There are many options for lodging in the Point Reyes area from B&Bs, to cottages, to several multi-room inns and lodges.
Since Point Reyes is a popular destination, we suggest you book as soon as possible. A good comprehensive resource is the
West Marin Chamber of Commerce. The Olema Camground in nearby Olema accepts RVs and tent campers.

Notes on Digital Review
The digital review forms the heart of the feedback loop for our workshop. Our reviews will take place shortly after our field exercises so we’ll quickly learn what worked, what didn’t and why. Each participant’s digital files will be converted to black and white. There is no better way to understand the principles of how light enhances form and helps to create compelling designs in our photographic compositions.
